Whats the best Broadleaf implementation that you know about?

The Container shop, IMO, is not a very good implementation, it lacks some basic SEO functionalities.

Thanks!

Flavio,

Specifically what SEO features are you looking for? At this time, the primary SEO feature built into Broadleaf framework is search engine optimized URLs. Other SEO strategies include optimizing content to use popular keywords, implementing a site map, providing fresh content, utilizing canonical tags to minimize duplicate content, etc... These are all outside the scope of what Broadleaf currently covers, but there are no limitations in Broadleaf that would prevent an implementer from building search engine optimized pages. Perhaps in the future the framework could include some tag libraries to assist with this.

When evaluating Broadleaf implementations, keep in mind that Broadleaf's focus (especially for the current 1.0 release) is on core eCommerce functionality like catalogs, shopping carts, promotions, and checkout, and less on the front end. But we definitely appreciate the feedback!

Hi Kenny

By basic functionality I meant precisely what you gave as a basic SEO function: smart url re-write.

Pls look at this url:
http://www.containerstore.com/shop/shel ... d=10016280

It is the url of an "Enameled Steel Cube Bath Storage"

What I see in the url is "productId=10016280" which probably means nothing to a SE user.

Why wasn't the expression "Enameled-Steel-Cube-Bath-Storage" built into the url? It is not unimportant since someone thought it was a good idea to put it in the title: "<title>The Container Store &gt; Enameled Steel Cube Bath Storage</title>" and in ah h2: <h2 class="productName">Enameled Steel Cube Bath Storage</h2>.

This is what I meant when I said that the Container Shop is not really a good example of a broadleaf implementation and this is the reason I was asking if anyone knew about other implementation that has put more effort into SEO.

Having said that, I still need to know more about broadleaf. In principle, I think it's a nice piece of SW. Cheers.
