Hi,
I have a question that is making rounds in my read since I saw a job posting that has the following as one of the technical requirements - "............Portal, CMS & Ecommerce technologies like Liferay, CMS (DAY-CQ, Drupal), Hybris etc........"
Now once I have gone through the websites of Liferay and Hybris (both are Java based products...Hybris seems to use Spring also), it appeared that these platforms can also be used to build e-commerce products and content management systems and it seemed these platforms are quite popular.
My question now is - what is the basic "difference" between creating e-commerce site using Broadleaf framework and products such as Hybris/Liferay. I am seeking to understand the "difference" in terms of difficulty/complexity, development time e.t.c
The above idea may be extrapolated to ask an additional question - why was Broadleaf was not built on top of products such as Hybris or Liferay?
I am not sure whether all those questions are meaningful or not but nevertheless I feel pretty uneasy until I am able to find a suitable answer to all the above questions.
