Hi,

I am new to Broadleaf and I have some issues with setting everything up. I followed the Getting Started tutorial and I run jetty-demo for admin and then I go to the url, http://localhost:8081/admin and I get the error:

Code: Select all

HTTP ERROR 500

Problem accessing /admin/blcadmin/login.jsp. Reason:

But I have put the JDK path, "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26" in my JAVA_HOME environment variable.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

Ensure that Eclipse has the correct version of Java referenced (assuming that you're running from there).

You could also try just doing 'java -version' on the command line to make sure that comes back with the version that you're expecting.

I changed Java version referenced in Eclipse and now it is ok.

Thanks phillipuniverse.

Hello,

I am impressed with your product. Thank you. I am following the Getting Started guide, but have hit the same issue when trying to start the admin.

I am using java version "1.7.0_02". I have also configured eclipse to point to the same version by setting it up in Preferences->java->installed JREs and also ensuring that that installed jre is referenced in Preferences->java->Compiler.

Yet, I am still having the same problem accessing /admin/blcadmin/login.jsp.

Reason: PWC6345: There is an error in invoking javac. A full JDK (not just JRE) is required
Caused by: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: PWC6345: There is an error in invoking javac. A full JDK (not just JRE) is required

I also tried copying the javac executable to the jre/bin directory (as suggested by another person posting about the same problem). But after stopping and restarting jetty, I had the same issue.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Should I be using jdk 1.6?

Sincerely,
Radha

I solved my problem. Even though I had the javac in the jre/bin directory. The jre that I was pointing to from eclipse was still wrong. my mistake ..

It was not the same jre into which I copied the javac executable. I'll leave up my above post for reference to anyone.

Thanks all! :D

Sincerely,
Radha
