Hello,

I' am new to Broadleaf. I want to know how to setup the language to French (website and admin) and setup the currency to XOF.

Need your help.
I want to switch to Broadleaf Commerce. I was planning to use shopify, however I prefer a non hosted java platform.

Switching the language of broadleaf is more about modifying the text that it displays, currently all informational displays are written in English. If you wish to have it in French you must override and change all of the text. Because this is not a hosted solution such as Shopify you will be doing most of this leg work yourself, but that is the tradeoff of customization versus ease of setup. Though on the pros side of it with Broadleaf you will find much more in the customization department as opposed to the feeling of your website being a cookie cutter system.

Also, we have an internationalization release that's going to support sites with multiple currencies and multiple languages coming very soon!

which release do you mean? BroadleafCommerce-2.0.x ?

2.1 will have multi-language and multi-currency support.

Hi, my company is considering using broadleaf for an online shop we're developing. Internationalization is a must-have feature.
When are you expecting to release this?

Our goals changed slightly and both locale and multi-currency will be included in the 2.2 version of the framework. The current version is 2.2.0-RC2 (second release candidate) and our hope is to release 2.2.0 GA by the end of the month. You can try out all of this functionality on our public demo at demo.broadleafcommerce.org/heatclinic (select a different flag at the top to change the Locale).

You will also be interested in the i18n module available at https://github.com/BroadleafCommerce/I18n. This includes all of the entities needed to hold various translations as well as the admin screens.
