Is it possible to exempt shipping for a particular product for all customers? Lets say I want to sell tickets in a shop that sells other goods that must be shipped and customers are always charged for shipping. How can I exempt that ticket so that if someone buys only tickets, he or she will not be charged for shipping.

Fix this by adding a new fixed price fulfillment option shipping option for digital and mark that product as digital. I did this directly in the database directly.

You got it; that is exactly how you would do it, by using the flat rates for that particular Sku.
