New Product not showing up in online demo site

Hi,

I've created a virtual demo site via http://www.broadleafcommerce.com/demo. I've used the related admin site to add a new product to the Merchandise category but the new product doesn't show up on the Merchandise page of the demo website. I've also tried cloning an existing product and just changing the name but it also doesn't show up. If I edit the name or large description of an existing product the change does appear on the demo web site.

I've also tried the same using a local copy of the demo site created via the downloadable Eclipse website, but get exactly the same results.

Am I missing a step somewhere? Although there's not a lot of documentation around adding and managing products, it all seems reasonably intuitive except that any newly added or cloned products aren't showing up in the public site.

Further to my previous post, removing a product from the catalog and the product category doesn't seem to remove the item from the corresponding section on the public demo site either. This seems like quite a fundamental problem, how are other people adding product to their sites?

The settings that we have deployed currently use Solr for searching, and all of the catalog browsing end up going through this service to display results. See this section in the documentation for configuring: http://docs.broadleafcommerce.org/curre ... earch.html

According to those docs, the Solr index is rebuilt every hour but can be reconfigured to be as quick as you want. So in short, on the demo that you're seeing you will not get any updates to the catalog results for at least an hour.

To be more specific, due to the fundamental database structure we're using to host the provisioned demo sites, you will not be able to add/remove products and see a direct effect. We are aware of this issue, but it's not a super-high priority for us as it only affects the requested demo sites.

This is absolutely not an issue when you have your own Broadleaf site set up.

We encourage you to follow the Getting Started guide to get your own environment set up.

Hello,

You must specifie for any product
-Active Date Range (start date).
-Retail price.

Be sure that these two options are filled, then rebout the server and the changes will take effect.

Even when adding new categorie menu you shoul always specifie a start date( this mean in broadleaf that the elemet that you want to add is activated from this start date)
